Fire Dire

CGT12

Forest fire also called wild brush or vegetation fire, can be described as any uncontrolled and non-prescribed combustion or burning of plants in a natural setting such as a forest, grassland, bushland or tundra. Forest fire prevention refers to pre emptive methods aimed at reducing the risk of forest fires as well as reducing their severity and spread.
Strategies for wild fire prevention, detection, control and suppression have varied over the years. Several methods were incorporated for fire detection in the past. However, information analysis and delivery was often delayed by limitation in communication technology. Accurate human observation maybe limited by operator fatigue, time of day, time of year and geographic location. To overcome this, we have come up with a product called Fire Dire. The project “Fire Dire” uses GPS module, GSM module, thermal sensor and smoke detector to send the information about fire and its location to the nearest forest office. The data from these sensors along with the location from GPS module will be sent periodically to the cloud. An app developed for this purpose will help them to predict the possibility of an impending forest fire.
