Know Your Plants

The farmers are the backbone of the country who produce crops. The farmers plant many plants, crops and take care of them till they are harvested. The problem the farmers or gardeners or botanist face is that the plants or crops are diseased. To identify the disease that crop or plant has and to treat the disease with appropriate fertilizers, pesticides, the environment in which the crop or plant must be grown in is also necessary to be known before planting, the parameters like temperature, humidity etc. These problems can be solved using Know Your Plant. Know your plant is a mobile crop advisory app for farmers, extension workers and gardeners using which you can monitor your crop and plant growth. Know your plant uses farm level data to predict ideal growth conditions and resource requirements and notify farmers to take informed decisions, below the soil parameters, crop stage, crop growth. Know your plant provides real-time insight into daily progress of your crops and activities, manages sales, expenses and cash flow to ensure the health of your finances.

Face recognition with anti-spoofing

Face recognition has been one of the most interesting and important research field in the past two decades. The reasons come from the need of automatic recognition and surveillance systems, the interest in human visual system on face recognition, and the design of human computer interface, etc. These researches involve knowledge and researchers from disciplines such as neuroscience, psychology, computer vision, pattern recognition, image processing, and machine learning, etc. Although face liveness detection methods have been proposed to distinguish real and fake faces, they are either time-consuming, costly, or sensitive to noise and illumination and there is still no robust technique against uncontrolled practical cases which may involve different factors such as environment, software and hardware of the system etc. A facial recognition system is a technology capable of recognizing a human face, that works by pinpointing and measuring facial features from a given image. But, this face recognition can be flawed i.e., there is a possibility of face spoofing. Our project proposes a face recognition system with anti-spoofing features. A ResNet50 neural network is used to train the model for face recognition. For anti-spoofing we use eye blink detection technique for photo attack, reflection of light technique for video attack and remote photo plethysmography technique for mask attack.

Virtual Eye

The main aim of this project is to provide an efficient visual platform to enhance the perception of his surroundings for a visually impaired user. This is achieved by using the concept of real time image and video processing. This data is analyzed and compared along with the database which consists of pre-stored data that aids in recognition of the captured image, also keeping the financial perspective in mind. A head mount camera is used to capture an image on a real-time basis whenever desired. The captured image is then processed and compared with the information stored in the database, providing an audio output indicating the desired information. Audio output is provided through bone conduction headphones which communicate audio signals directly with the inner ear. A distress alert mechanism is also included as a safety measure to the blind at times of danger. It helps in sending messages containing distress alert signal and the current location of the user. Hence, virtual eye provides an expandable multi -feature package to the user with the following features such as Obstacle Avoidance, Face Detection/ Recognition and Distress Alert.

Lazer Induced Musical Instrument

A laser music system has been created, that combines a laser and light sensor system with an infrared distance sensing system that detects the position of user’s hand when it intersects one or more of the individual laser beam. The laser beam, which are made visible by a small amount of smoke in a dark room, provides vision, guidance to the user to reduce the difficulty of using a non-contact instrument as well as enhancing an appealing optical effect for the user. The system uses a number of sharp distance sensors to map the position of the users hand to a variable like pitch. The user should move their hand to different heights to achieve a desired pitch. The laser beam should be broken to trigger the desired note.
