Shadow Wheels : Computer Vision Motor aided vehicular tracking system

With the growing number of vehicles on the road most nations are adopting an intelligent transport system (ITS) for handling issues like traffic flow density, queue length, the average speed of the traffic, and total vehicles passing through a point in a specific time interval. A camera is used to monitor the vehicles and to record the feed for image processing. Aurdino Uno and Raspberry Pi 4 are used for computing and processing. The students are in the process of applying for copyright for this project.

Design and Development of Turning Circle Radius Measuring Device

Turning circle diameter gives an indication of the space required to turn a particular vehicle. Hence the higher the value of turning circle diameter, the higher is the space needed to turn the vehicle completely and vice-versa. It is the diameter of the circle made by the outer wheels of the vehicles while making a complete turn. Legally manufacturers must specify the turning circle radius or diameter. Hence it appears in the specification sheet of every vehicles. The standards or the requirements of turning circle of the vehicle are specified in various technical standards which are generally developed country wise. The Indian requirements are specified in the Indian Standard IS12222.2011. Presently most procedures for the measurement of turning circle radius or diameter of vehicles still follow manual steps. Therefore there is a scope for transition from traditional methods to a more effective method of turning radius measurement by utilizing electronic recording devices to determine appropriate class path for a vehicle. The aim of this project is to incorporate an electronic step up within the automobile alongwith an external step up where sensors are mounted on the wheel of the vehicle. The entire set up is intended to operate based on modern technology such as ultra sound and Lidar sensors, whose data is processed for turning radius measurement. This thereby reduces the time and manual effort currently being spent on the process, and the result may be compared with data from manufacturers to determine effectiveness.

Pneumatic Bumper And Braking System

The technology of pneumatics has gained tremendous importance in the field of workplace rationalization and automation. A pneumatic system is a system that uses compressed air to transmit and control energy. Our project “Pneumatic bumper and breaking system” is used to protect the vehicle from accident. This project consists of ultrasonic sensor, Control Unit, Pneumatic bumper system. The ultrasonic sensor is used to detect the obstacle. If there is any obstacle closer to the vehicle, the control signal is given to the bumper activation system. Vehicle speed is sensed by the proximity sensor and signal is given to the control unit and pneumatic bumper activation system. The ultrasonic circuit is to transmit the ultrasonic rays. If any obstacle is there in a path, the ultra-sonic rays are reflected. These reflected ultrasonic rays are received by the receiver. The receiver circuit receives the reflected rays and giving the control signal to the control circuit. The control circuit is used to activate the solenoid valve. As the solenoid valve gets activated, the compressed air passes through the Pneumatic Cylinder and both the bumper & breaking system gets actuated simultaneously. In our project we are using the Ultrasonic sensor instead of IR sensor which increases the range of detection. We are also introducing City & Highway mode by incorporating with speed limit of 40-50 km/hour above which bumper and breaking actuation will take place.

Obstacle Detection For The Blind

The inability to perceive objects around oneself is the most disastrous things that could happen to a person. This also eradicates the ability of the person to move around by themselves in known localities and environments. Over the span of the last decade, several types of devices have been designed to help the visually impaired move around in different kinds of environments. However, these systems haven’t proved to be efficient in all scenarios, such as in cases involving objects above the waist level. This paper aims to develop an obstacle detection device that helps the visually impaired in the form of a mobility aid. The designed model detects the closest obstacle using the sonar principle and in turn generates a vibro-tactile feedback that alerts the user about the direction of the object.

System And Method For Image Analysis-CCTV Footage Surveillance

Nowadays it has become necessary to develop an automated system to monitor activities in the campus of schools / colleges that alert unusual activities to the authorities concerned. Apart from schools/colleges, this system can be implemented in public places, corporate companies, etc. to ensure the security of all people, especially women. Installing such systems in public transportation is of utmost need as people do not feel sage to travel in the night. In our system, action based features are analyzed in order to generate a static video summary by condensing the live CCTV footage. If deviant behavior such as stabbing, theft, murder, etc., is detected, then the central system initiates a trigger to send an alert message to the concerned authorities. Video summarization is a vital process that facilitates well organized storage, quick browsing and retrieval of large collection of data without losing important aspects.

Indoor Surveillance Drone

Fire outbreak has been a common issue in forests and large buildings. In this research we are using a drone to detect forest and building fires which uses the techniques of image processing and video processing. Our research can be divided into three main modules. The first module focuses on the cloud service amazon cloud to perform data analysis. The Data collected by the drone, with the help of flame sensor attached to Aurdino, is transferred to amazon cloud.This is achieved through the Aurdino. The second module is based on image processing. With the help of inbuilt camera module, the drone captures real time images and image processing is done on that image using google API. The algorithm uses content based image retrieval and detects whether fire is caught inside the image or not, along with its intensity. The algorithm also detects the objects present nearby the fire. Hence if people are present or trapped nearby the fire we can detect them and prioritize the areas which needs immediate attention. The third module focuses on video processing. The algorithm detects fire based on the color of the pixels captured. All the three modules are together integrated in this research to boost up the accuracy of fire detection by the drone. Uniqueness of this research is that it comprises of 3 different modules each having different but inter-related functions. All three modules boost up the fire detection accuracy and can thus help in saving lives.

FITQUA : Digital Water Bottle

Objective is to design the world’s smartest water bottle which can notify the user to stay hydrated and to maintain the temperature of the water according to the needs of the user. Most of the available products in the market are not able to regulate the temperature of water and are not affordable or less user friendly. It is difficult to control temperature of liquid along with the portability, current smart water bottles can only maintain the temperature up to few hours but cannot change the temperature to users need. Application will take input from the user for example body weight, calories intake of day, calories burn in a day or the medicine to be taken (approximate value), the input data will be converted into useful information regarding the amount of water individual need to intake in a day with the time notification and reminder to take medicine.

This project concentrates on designing the most efficient battery powered food delivery bot that can automatically deliver the food to tables and deliver packages inside the campus. The aim is to build a cost effective bot that are highly sophisticated in terms of path tracking and motion. Development is going on for upgrading the Bot which can work through AI and turn 360 degrees. User friendly interface is being developed.
